“At Last”

Comments 2 Standard

The map was outdated and torn

Evening had supplanted morn

Joy turned to fear as hours passed

Then, I turned to myself at last

A man said he knew the way out

But his tattered clothes gave me doubt

Hope was gone and my eyes downcast

Then, I turned to myself at last

Like the young girl in the fable

I didn’t think myself able

But with sharp eyes and feet steadfast

Then, I turned to myself at last
