It’s Not Our World

Comment 1 Standard

When you understand there will never be time enough!

Little mortal lives scurry under the remorseless skies!

Despite our joy, suffering, or terror, the sun will rise!

Inside this uncaring world our spirits begin to sag

Our breakable bodies can fall victim to storm or craig

Only the bravest among us will call God’s bluff!

When you understand there will never be time enough!

To be honest, we’re all lucky to be alive at all,

We are not the center of this world, but bit players in this;

The wise man is in control of his mind, what he knows is

Enough to satisfy himself and battle his own fear

Treat every moment as a gift, and grow with each year;

Do not worry about death, live as if you’ll never fall

For you’ll carry on until you hear the master’s call.
