Here’s May’s Person of the Month & the coolest fiddle teacher from Duluth, Minnesota:

“Bird, why do you sing? Fate has clipped your wings…”

“Bird Song”

Her TEDtalk – “Sexuality and Disability: Forging Identity in a World that Leaves You Out” also applies on how to better fulfill yourself, achieve happiness regardless of what society wants to dictate to you.

If I’ve learned one thing this month, regardless of our exterior machinery, we have the same hopes, dreams, fears and want the same things essentially…there’s no use in being intimidated or afraid of people that seem different than you.

Here she is with Alan Sparhawk from Low in their side-project “The Murder of Crows” – they cover “Heart-Shaped Box” by Nirvana (clipped it so it starts a little beforehand, check it out!).

She and Alynda Segarra from Hurray from the Riff Raff are signs that some things are right in this world.
