June 16 Poem.

Comments 5 Standard

Stretching forth toward the sun throughout time

A tensile strength expands within my core

The world changes, but undaunted I climb

Guarding those who crawl, aiding those who soar

Others hurry past my post on this shore

Now others encroach, but still I abide

Altering form does not mean one’s died

Imagine panning dirt away from gold
Clearing oneself to reveal beauty untold

(I was prompted write a poem from the point of view of a tree and it turned into this.)
